BIOGRAPHY

Source of inspiration: everyday scenes which we all consider as banal or hope scenes which mark out the life,
everything can be source of inspiration. He tries to remain naive, never far from the simplicity and to avoid any
speech developing and justifying emotion after his work is done.
Rule of the game: the characters must occupy absolutely all the surface available. As usual wiht rules, this one
is not usually respected !
To stick a label ? If it is needed, one will say free figuration, or singular figuration, or whatever you want...
"Alfredo Lopez doesn't paint the unforgettable moments of life or the uncertain historic facts, but he paints
and lives very much in the present. This artist was born in 1967 and created the cartoon magazine Narcose and has been
a Laureate from several contests. Lopez is a very graphic painter who creates the small stolen moments of life;
it is those moments that he colors in a very tropical way. He has worked for years on this method, this way of life,
on its small characteristics of how people live in totally different ways but finally discover an identical aspect that is
reproduced conscientiously without paying attention. Lopez makes us discover the small moments in a kitchen, a bathroom
or during a party... Finally what is more important than those moments in which we re-discover ourselves ?
